Two of Britain’s greats of stage and screen are sharing their stories and knowledge of the industry at York’s acclaimed short film festival this year.
Dame Judi Dench and Maxine Peake are taking part in masterclasses during the 10th anniversary Aesthetica Short Film Festival.
They join the line-up of over 50 masterclasses that are taking place virtually from 3-30 November.
These cover a range of insights in the film industry from experts in cinematography, animation, screenwriting, casting, producing and much more.
Also, several masterclasses feature celebrated actors and filmmakers in conversation including Russel Tovey, Chinonye Chukwu, Andrea Arnold – and now Maxine Peake and Dame Judi Dench.
Maxine Peake
Maxine Peake is a versatile BAFTA and BIFA-nominated actor who has triumphed the stage and screen with credits such as Hamlet, Dinnerladies, The Theory of Everything, and Shameless.
She will be in conversation with Birds Eye View’s Mia Bays to discuss her inspirations and authorial voice.
Dame Judi Dench
To help bring the 10th Anniversary edition of the festival to a close is acting superstar and national treasure Dame Judi Dench.
The Oscar and BAFTA award winning actor and icon of stage and screen has innumerable many credits include the James Bond series, Shakespeare in Love, Philomena, Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. Join Dame Judi as she takes a retrospective look at a lifetime of unforgettable portrayals.
