Firefighters came to the aid of a cyclist knocked off his bike outside their station this afternoon (Thursday).
It happened on Kent Street outside the main York Fire Station, at 1.59pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews provided first aid and oxygen therapy to the cyclist who suffered head injuries until the arrival of ambulance crews.
“The male cyclist was transported to hospital via road ambulance for a precautionary check.”
The incident led to lanes being closed and congestion on the Fishergate one-way gyratory.
