A North Yorkshire cricket club has launched a brand-new clubhouse – and is celebrating with a free family fun day.
Carlton Towers Cricket Club will officially open their new space on Sunday 18 May, and are inviting the community to come down and enjoy a day packed with cricket, food, drinks and family entertainment.
This includes a junior cricket festival, a women’s match, and a headline fixture where Carlton Towers Men’s 1st XI Team will face off against social media favourites Backyard Cricket UK.

Attendees can enjoy food from Marco’s Pizza and Flip n Bun, a wide range of beverages at the newly launched Towers Tavern and entertainment for all ages.
Ed Bayston, chair of Carlton Towers Cricket Club said: “The clubhouse represents a major step forward for the club. It’s been a real labour of love, made possible by the incredible generosity of local businesses and volunteers at the club. This space isn’t just for cricket – it’s for the whole community to enjoy, and we’re thrilled to finally open its doors.
“We would love for members of the public, families, supporters and cricket fans to come down and be part of this special day.”
In addition to a new social area, the redevelopment has made way for modern and inclusive facilities such as new changing rooms, toilets and shower facilities for men, women and catering for disabilities.
Steve Carr, secretary at Carlton Towers Cricket Club, said: “The redevelopment has been designed to support our growing teams and serve as a welcoming hub for events and social gatherings in Carlton and beyond.
“It comes at the perfect time as we begin the season with a record number of junior players, a thriving Women’s Team and three established Men’s teams—including our 1st XI making their debut in Premier League 2.
“We hope the new facilities will attract even more players and ensure people of all ages can enjoy the sport.”
