This was the scene early in York today (Monday).
Firefighters from Acomb were called out to tackle a fire by the river.
A wood pile had caught light, and the crews put out the flames using two hose reels.

North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service is asking everyone to be aware that the ground is dry and the risk fires in the open high at the moment.
The weather is forecast to stay warm and dry in York until Wednesday (3 June) when it is due to get cooler with some light rain.
