Crews tackle fire in Ryedale woodland

Firefighters have tackled a fire in a Ryedale wood.

Crews from from Malton and Helmsley were called to the woodland in Thornton Le Dale at 6.05pm last night (Thursday).

They discovered a fire to scrubland and brash, measuring about 15m by 10m.

They put it out using two hose reel jets.
