A cow has been shot and killed in York in what police describe as a “shocking act of cruelty”.
Police are appealing for witnesses and information after the animal was killed in a field at Dunnington.
The cow was shot through the eye, causing it fatal injuries.
It happened at 11pm on Saturday (May 14). Officers from York police and North Yorkshire Police’s Rural Taskforce are investigating the incident.
PC Dan Kirven, of York police, said:
