The Civic Party is inviting budding artists to submit entries with Christmas sparkle for this year’s Civic Christmas Card Competition.
The Rt Hon The Lord Mayor would like to invite children and young people in York to submit a design for the Civic Christmas card for the Lord Mayor’s year in office.
The successful card, judged by the Lord Mayor and her hand-picked judging panel, will be sent out by the Civic Party to local businesses, schools, organisations and individuals wishing them festive greetings.
The card will also be sent to other Lord Mayors and Sheriffs across the country as well as some international colleagues.
The Rt Hon The Lord Mayor of York, Cllr Julie Gunnell said: “This is a great opportunity for the children of York to gear up for Christmas.
“I am looking forward to viewing the entries and seeing them displayed in the Mansion House. I’m sure me and the rest of the judges will have a tough decision to make when having to decide on the winning entry.”
All the entries will be on display in the Mansion House and the winner will be announced by the Lord Mayor. The cards will be produced by the beginning of December for posting out in time for Christmas.
The winner will be invited to the Mansion House to receive the first copy of the finished card from the Lord Mayor.
Entries for the competition should be submitted by the deadline of Friday 8 November 2013 to:
