Handball is one of the most exciting and fast paced sports in the world, widely played in continental Europe and is becoming more popular in the UK with the legacy from the London 2012 Olympics.

Handball is a 7-a-side indoor sport with six outfield players and 1 goalkeeper, with the aim of the game being simple – to score more goals than the opposition by shooting into a 3m x 2m goal. Everyone plays outfield attacks and also defends as a team. It’s a great sport to keep fit over the winter months!

Established in 2013, we are a growing club affiliated with the England Handball Association looking for new members. Our club is open to everyone aged 18+, all levels of ability are catered for and supported in our training sessions.

We regularly play friendly matches against other local clubs and are aiming to enter a league next year.

Training takes place on Tuesday evenings at The Mount School Sports Hall in Holgate from 6.30pm-8pm. Sessions cost £5 and all equipment is provided, just come in comfortable sports gear and indoor sports shoes.

Join us for a free training session on Tuesday September 18 and follow us on social media with @YorkHandball to drop us a line or find out more!
