Martin Dales, friend and spokesperson for the father of missing York chef Claudia Lawrence has died aged 66.
He had been a member of the Conservative Party for over 30 years and had been a councillor, Chairman of the Association and then a trustee.
But it was his support for the late Peter Lawrence, father of Claudia that he will probably be best remembered for.
He made countless appearances on TV and radio in his efforts to find answers to the mystery surrounding her disappearance.
He continued to make sure the case was at the forefront of the public’s mind after Peter died.
He always told YorkMix that he was frustrated that somebody somewhere had the answer to what happened but wouldn’t come forward.
He was married to Hazel and had two daughters, Jessica and Rachel.
Martin lived in Old Malton.
