A chef behind a successful York restaurant is looking to open a second venue in the city.
Decio Franca opened La Piazza Antica with fellow chef Arjan Boci in a Grade I listed, 500-year-old building on Goodramgate in April.
It has since scored a series of 5/5 reviews on TripAdvisor.
Now Decio wants to open a new restaurant on Low Petergate.
He has applied for a premises licence for unit 2 of 62-65 Low Petergate. This was last home to Grön Kafé.
Top chef Matt Healy opened Grön early in 2020. That was just before the pandemic struck and it closed in November 2021, with the company behind it wound up in March this year.
Previous to that the building housed Filmore & Union. It opened in 2012, and underwent a £100K refurbishment five years later.
However, it shut in 2019 after the group that ran it went into administration.
According to the licence application, the new restaurant would open from 8am to 12.30am every day.
