Chart-topping band cancel York Barbican gig after family bereavement
Pop band The Kooks have called off their York gig at the Barbican on Wednesday night December 9.
The Brighton-based four-piece have cancelled all their shows this week owing to a family bereavement.
They issued a statement on their website which read:
New dates for these shows will be announced ASAP. All tickets will remain valid.
Folkestone, Southampton, Lincoln and London shows will still go ahead.
Thank you for your understanding at this time.

Hang on to your tickets
Anyone with tickets for the York gig will be able to use them to get in to the rescheduled gig next year.
York Barbican says on the venue website:
Please note – Original tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date.
The Kooks broke into the musical mainstream with 2006 debut album Inside In/Inside Out. It achieved quadruple platinum status and included the top ten single She Moves In Her Own Way.
Their most recent album, Listen, released last year, included single Down which made it into the top 40.
