CBeebies and CBBC star Evie Pickerill has joined the cast of York Theatre Royal’s 2024 pantomime.
Evie will star as The Spirit of the Ring in the theatre’s spectacular family pantomime Aladdin.
Aladdin is at York Theatre Royal from Tuesday 3 December 2024 to Sunday 5 January 2025.
Evie is one of the main presenters on children’s television channel CBeebies, which she’s been hosting since 2018. She also regularly hosts on CBBC and has guest starred on Blue Peter.
She joins the previously announced Robin Simpson, who returns as Dame in a show written by Paul Hendy, directed by Juliet Forster and co-produced with Evolution Productions – the team behind previous York pantomime hits Cinderella, All New Adventures of Peter Pan and last year’s Jack and the Beanstalk.
Paul Hendy, Aladdin writer, and producer from Evolution Productions, said: “We’re delighted Evie Pickerill will be joining Robin Simpson in our spectacular production of Aladdin here at the beautiful York Theatre Royal.
“I’ve been lucky enough to see Evie in pantomime before, and know that she’s going to bring a sparkle and flare to the show that our audiences will adore! This really is shaping up to be our biggest and funniest show ever!”
Evie is no stranger to pantomime, having previously played both Cinderella and Snow White.
Alongside her passion for the arts, Evie is a supporter of several children’s charities and in 2022 took part in many fundraising events for Comic Relief, Children In Need and became a champion for Place2Be.
Tickets for Aladdin are already on sale, and start from £15 via the York Theatre Royal website.
