People who live and work in York are being invited to have their say about policing, crime and anti-social behaviour in the city centre.

Inspector Andy Godfrey and Sergeant Nick Plumb will join a representative from the Salvation Army charity to host the webchat between 6pm and 7pm on Tuesday, September 27.

They will be online to discuss people’s experiences with York police and respond to any issues raised.

To join the webchat, or set up an email reminder in advance, visit this page on the police website.

Very safe city

Inspector Godfrey of York police said:

Webchats give us the chance to hear from residents and businesses in our city, allowing them to provide feedback about issues of concern in a modern, accessible way.

York is a very safe city, but we are always looking for ways to further improve the policing service in the city.

We will do our best to answer any questions that come up during the webchat. For those who can’t attend the online event, there are also plenty of opportunities to ask questions in advance, or meet your local police face-to-face as well.

Residents who are unable to take part in the live webchat are encouraged to send their questions in advance on Twitter, Facebook or email.

On Twitter, tweet the North Yorkshire Police account @NYorksPolice, or the York police account @snayorkcityeast.

On Facebook, leave a comment on the North Yorkshire Police Facebook page.
