Firefighters took part in a classic feline rescue today (Monday).
They were called in to help rescue a cat stranded up a tree in Main Street, Bilborough, at 11.18am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A Tadcaster crew were requested by the RSPCA to assist in rescuing a cat from a tree which had been there for approximately 24 hours.

“Crews attempted to use a reach rescue pole to coax the cat down.
“However the cat then decided it could find its own way down and was left in the hands of the owner.”
