Police have seized another car in the York area in a crackdown.
The force launched Operation Drive Insured this week – “a campaign of enhanced proactivity identifying the uninsured drivers on our county’s roads”.
“Our front line officers are out on patrol using our ANPR and in-car technology, to ensure these offenders are brought to justice.
“At a time when austerity is high, vehicle insurance is not a cut back you can afford to make.”
Officers seized four vehicles and arrested one uninsured driver on suspicion of drug driving in the first three hours.
Last night, Sgt Paul Cording of North Yorkshire Police pulled over the car in his picture above.
“Turns out the driver has no insurance and the vehicle is notified off road,” he posted on X. “Driver reported and vehicle seized.”
