Police are hunting for an arsonist who smashed up a car and set it on fire.
It happened in the early hours yesterday (Sunday) on Thoresby Road in Acomb, York.
The window of a Renault Modus was smashed and the interior of the car set on fire.

The car was parked on the street unattended. No one was inside and no one was hurt.
Police are asking local residents to check and CCTV or doorbell footage for anything suspicious, and to contact them with any information.


A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said they were called at 1.46am: “Acomb firefighters responded to a vehicle fire which was out prior to their arrival after it had failed to spread.
“Crews inspected the vehicle with a thermal imaging camera to check for any further fire spread.
“The interior of the vehicle was only partially damaged and the incident was left with the owner to liaise with police and investigate further.”
