Car goes into canal at Selby – Police in rescue operation
A car went into the canal at Selby last night (Thursday).
Emergency services were called to reports of a car which had entered the canal at 9.09pm.
Police, fire and ambulance crews went to the scene. Elliott Lazenby captured this video soon after the incident happened.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “On arrival, all persons were accounted for after being brought to safety by a police officer.
“Crews used a level three water rescue tethered swimmer to carry out a full inspection of the vehicle.”
One witness said on Facebook: “I was in car with my son coming over canal bridge – saw a car in canal we stopped and called police they got a man out of car.”
