One person had to be airlifted to hospital after a serious crash on the A64.
It happened near Bilborough Top, close to the Aagrah Restaurant.
A car, travelling on the westbound carriageway, was reported to have entered the eastbound carriageway and crashed into the barrier.
The accident was reported to emergency services at 7.58am today (Monday). The road was completely closed for some time as emergency services responded to the crash.
Fire crews from York, Tadcaster and Acomb went to the scene along with police.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance, also responded, alongside road ambulances.
The passenger in the car was taken to hospital, and the road reopened at 9.33am.
During the road closure traffic was diverted around the scene, but heavy queues built up. The road is now running as normal.
