Car catches fire in pub car park

A car caught fire at a pub near York this weekend.
Firefighters from Acomb were called out to the incident in the car park at the pub in Nun Monkton at 12.49pm on Sunday.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “On arrival they confirmed a VW Golf well alight.

“Crews extinguished the fire and dmapened down surrounding area using one hose reel jet and one breathing apparatus.
“Crews gave advice to the owner of the vehicle. The cause of the fire is believed to be due to an electrical fault.”
The fire service didn’t name the pub, but there is only one in Nun Monkton, the Alice Hawthorn Inn.
