Firefighters were called after a car burst into flames in York last night (Tuesday).
The car, a Renault Laguna, caught light on the driveway of a house in Huntington.
A fire crew was called at 9.49pm. The owner of the Laguna used a fire extinguisher and water from a garden hose on the fire before they arrived.
Two firefighters in breathing apparatus used hose reels to put out the flames.
A brigade spokesperson said: “The fire started and was confined to the engine compartment of the vehicle causing 100% fire damage.”
