A car was destroyed by fire on the A64 in York today (Thursday).
It happened on the A64 eastbound near Naburn Lane, at 2.32pm.
Fire crews from Acomb, York and Huntington went to the incident.
They found a Ford Fiesta well alight.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used foam, a dry powder extinguisher and a hose reel jet to put out the flames.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The vehicle suffered 100% fire damage. The cause was unknown.”
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Police assisted with the road closure until 3.30pm while firefighters dealt with the fire.”
No one was hurt, and the fire was not suspicious.
