The Easter bunny has hopped into York just in time for the holidays. But can you find him?

EB and his friends are hiding around the city centre. But you can only see them with your mobile phone…

To begin the adventure, download the York Quest app from the Google Play Store or App Store, and start the Search For Spring! trail.

Carl from the York BID talks to Ben on YorkMix Radio about the trail

The York BID has launched the York Quest AR (augmented reality) app in time for the Easter holidays.

The Search For Spring trail encourages families into the city to find a series of characters who are hidden around York’s historic streets.

Once you have found a character there is a fun interactive element to enjoy. You can also take a photo and share on social media.

It allows family bubbles to safely experience the city while maintaining social distancing, in a new and interactive way during spring.

The York Quest App was first trialled at Christmas with the Santa Search. The BID has decided to develop the app into a year-round activity with regularly changing seasonal trails to keep the app fresh.

The ‘Search for Spring’ will be available from 26 March to 26 April.

Users can choose to receive notifications of future trails as they are launched, including a permanent trail featuring iconic characters from York’s history which is currently being developed.

Carl Alsop, operations manager at the BID said: “We hope this app will appeal to both residents and visitors, giving an added element of fun to their visit into the city centre. You might choose to do the whole trail, or just discover a couple of characters as you visit other places in the city.

“My lad did the Christmas trail and is already excited about searching for rabbits!”
