Can you find all the mythical creatures hiding around York? Free family trail launched
Parenting website York Mumbler are launching a brand new city centre trail for families to enjoy for free.
The Mumbler Mythical Creature Quest is launching in time for half-term – but will be ongoing throughout the year.
The quest will be a short – but magical – walk around York and through the Shambles Market to find eight mythical creatures that are hiding around the city.
You might even have walked past some of them before without realising…
“We aimed to create a fun, free and child-friendly trail for local families to complete around York this Halloween,” said York Mumbler founder, Emily Pickard.
“We wanted to make sure it wasn’t too long for younger children and there were plenty of things to spot along the way.
“It ends in Dean’s Park near the Minster so kids can have a run around in the open after the bustling streets of York!”
Once you’ve found each mythical creature you’ll need to unscramble the clues on your quest sheet to uncover the magical Mumbler password – and don’t forget to collect your reward sticker from the Visit York Information Centre!
Copies of the Mumbler Mythical Creature Quest map are available to download now from York Mumbler website – or pick up your own from the Information Centre from next week.
The map will also include details of Halloween activities taking place at Shambles Market over half-term.
The trail will form part of a new blog from York Mumbler, which highlights other magical themed attractions in York – so you can have your own Harry Potter-inspired day out!
The blog includes suggestions such as a game of wizarding golf at the Hole in Wand, magical walking tours, and much more. Find it here.
