First York is asking passengers to stop closing windows on their buses even if the weather is bad.
The company said today that they are following Government guidance to increase ventilation on board.
Unfortunately, they added, this applies even if it’s cold and raining.
First York says fresh air helps keep bus travel safe during the pandemic, and they would appreciate it if you opened any closed windows on board.
It’s one of a number of safety measure they have taken.
You must keep your face covering on all the time you’re on the bus, unless exempt. They also carry out a full deep clean of the buses and make sure the handrails are regularly sanitised.
You should also remember to keep your distance at bus stops and give people plenty of room to get on and off.
