These dramatic pictures capture the damage after a bus caught fire in York.
The double decker City Sightseeing open top bus burst into flames on Foss Bank close to Sainsbury’s supermarket. Smoke could be seen pouring from the rear of the vehicle.
Fire, police and ambulance crews were called out at about 6.30pn on Tuesday (18 June). The road was closed while firefighters from York and Acomb put out the blaze.
Much of the rear of the bus was damaged.
The engine on the electric bus has been blackened by the flames, and the emergency door was opened.
There are no reports of any casualties. The road has now reopened.
