This is the scene on one York street this morning.
A water main has burst on Penley’s Grove Street in the Groves, leaving water cascading down the street.
The street is passable to vehicles with care.
The water is also pouring into the front gardens of residents on the street.
One said: “None of us can get out of our houses without getting wet.”
They said their water pressure had not yet been affected.
Penley’s Grove Street used to be a much busier street for traffic as drivers used it as a cut-through, but it is now open to residents only.
The incident comes two days after a burst water main caused problems on Goodramgate in York city centre.
Yorkshire Water has been informed.
