Work has begun to repair a building on Shambles in York.
Scaffolding was being installed this morning around number 47 Shambles – home on the ground floor to Paul Dawson Coins.
While pedestrian access is still fine, the road was temporarily closed off to vehicles temporarily.

It is on the corner with King’s Court and Newgate.
Crash barriers were placed at the top of the street and adjoining Newgate.
City of York Council says the maintenance work to the gable end is likely to last four to five weeks.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout.
The council said: “Morgan Medley have been appointed as contractors to carry out the works and we will be working with them to keep disruption to a minimum.”
It comes ahead of another planned closure to Shambles.
A traffic closure order says it will be shut to everyone, including pedestrians, every night between 8pm and 6am from Sunday, 11 September to Friday, 21 October.
It is to enable building maintenance works.
