Inspired by the #FreeBritney movement, a ‘hilarious and heartbreaking’ show about singing sensation Britney Spears is coming to York.
Saving Britney is fresh from a sold out and award-nominated run at London’s Old Red Lion Theatre and is currently on tour around the UK – with York being one of the stops.
It looks at celebrity obsession, sexuality and growing up in the early Noughties.

From old York to New York, the show will premiere Off Broadway at The SoHo Playhouse in July – the same venue where Fleabag had its New York debut.
The show is a collaboration between performer Shereen Roushbaiani (BBC’s Doctors, Pride and Prejudice The Panto, Mumylogues) and writer and director David Shopland (A Dream of Dying, Into Thin Air, The Little Mermaid).
The show has accumulated several five star reviews and has been shortlisted for a WhatsOnStage Award and nominated for two OffWestEnd Awards.
Tickets start from £10 and can be purchased via the Theatre@41 website.
