Bridge in York reopened after police incident
Clifton Bridge in York has reopened following a police incident.
It was shut between Westminster Road and Salisbury Terrace, North Yorkshire Police said at 6.48am.
Motorists and pedestrians were advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
But at 7.34am a force spokesperson said: “The incident police were dealing with earlier this morning has now been brought to a safe conclusion and the bridge has now reopened.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
The York Rescue Boat team was also called to the incident.
