A bridge on a key route near York has been damaged after being struck by a vehicle.
It happened on the bridge at Stamford Bridge on the A166 between York and Driffield / Bridlington.
The bridge is still open, but may have to close temporarily.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council said: “The road is open and under the usual traffic light control, but the damage caused will have to be assessed in the course of the day.
“Motorists and road users should be prepared for possible delays.”
