Brew York is enjoying a golden era.
The Walmgate-based brewery scored a double win in the prestigious 2024 SIBA Independent Beer Awards Bottle & Can Competition.
Britain’s leading competition for bottled and canned beers, the event features anonymised judging by brewers and expert tasters.
Brew York’s hazy IPA Time Travelling Taxi took home gold and was crowned champion in the Bottle & Can Pale Ale (4.5% – 5.5%) category.
And Juice Forsyth, a long-time fan favourite fruited IPA, secured silver in the Bottle & Can Specialty IPA category.
The competition judges beers against internationally recognised style guides, assessing appearance, aroma, flavour, aftertaste, and saleability.
“We’re incredibly proud to see two more of our Signature IPAs receive recognition at such a prestigious competition,” said Brew York co-founder Wayne Smith.
“Time Travelling Taxi and Juice Forsyth represent the heart of our brewing philosophy –balancing bold flavours with high-quality craftsmanship. These awards are a testament to the passion and dedication of our entire team.”
The two beers now join Brew York’s growing roster of award-winning Signature beers, alongside Golden Eagle, Coney and Loris.
Neil Walker, SIBA’s head of communications, praised this year’s winners. He said:
“The SIBA Independent Beer Awards are one of a kind in the UK, judged by expert beer sommeliers, experienced international judges, and master brewers.

Both Time Travelling Taxi and Juice Forsyth, along with the rest of Brew York’s Signature range, are available now via the Brew York website and selected pubs, bars and restaurants across the UK.
Some of Brew York’s Signature collection can also be found in supermarkets across the UK. Juice Forsyth and Time Travelling Taxi are available nationwide at Morrisons, with Juice Forsyth also stocked in select Asda stores.
Time Travelling Taxi and Coney can also be found in Tesco stores across Yorkshire.
