A man has been arrested after a police pursuit in York on Boxing Day.
Police officers moved in to pull over a white Ford Transit van west of the city yesterday afternoon, but it failed to stop.
The driver made off, pursued by roads policing officers. At Hessay, near the junction with the A59, officers deployed a stinger, and the vehicle was brought to a halt.
At about 5.30pm, the driver, a man in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis, and obstructing a police officer.
He remains in custody.
