A body has been recovered from a river near Selby.
North Yorkshire Police received a report from a member of the public that a body had been found in the River Aire around Ings Lane, Kellington, near Selby, shortly after noon yesterday (Wednesday).
They then informed their colleagues in West Yorkshire Police, who have been searching for a missing Castleford woman, Helen Mills.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “While formal identification is yet to take place, the family of Helen Mills, who was reported missing in West Yorkshire on 4 March, have been informed and the Coroner’s Office has been notified.”
Ms Mills, 39, was reported missing on Friday, 4 March. Officers had CCTV footage of her shortly after she left her home address and released an image which shows the clothing she was wearing at the time.
They appealed for the public’s help, and received a number of sightings which they followed up.
