A body has been recovered from the River Ouse in the search for a missing 19-year-old man.
North Yorkshire Police Underwater Search Unit recovered the body at 11:45am today (Wednesday).
Police were looking for a man who was reported to have entered the river from Ouse Bridge at 3:06am today.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:
“His family have been updated and are receiving specialist support from officers.
“Formal identification has yet to take place, so we are not in a position to name the man at this time.
“As previously stated, there are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
“A report is being compiled on behalf of the coroner.”
Officers are urging for witnesses or anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward as soon as possible.
