A body has been recovered from the River Foss – and it is that of student Ethan Peters.
Police officers searching for the missing 20-year-old found a man’s body in Foss behind the Castle Museum in York at 1.30pm on Sunday (October 9).
Shortly before 6pm, North Yorkshire confirmed that it was Ethan.
His family has been informed and they are continuing to receive support from specially-trained officers.
DI Jackie Smart said “Our thoughts are with Ethan’s family and we will do everything we can to support them at this very difficult time.
“We would like to thank the members of the public and the media who have supported the appeal.”
Ethan was last seen at 11.55pm on Coney Street in York on Sunday, October 2.
