A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after a serious crash on the A64.
A car and a motorcycle collided on the road at about 4.30pm tonight (Saturday) at the junction with the B1258.
The road is closed in both directions between the B1248 near Norton-on-Derwent (east) and B1249 as police continue to work at the scene.

North Yorkshire Police said: “The A64 in both directions is expected to be closed for some time while we work – please avoid the area, and find alternative routes for your journeys.
“The rider of the motorcycle has been taken to hospital by air ambulance.”
Diversions are in place. Highways England said: “Delays are likely on the approach to this closure, with additional journey times also expected on diversion routes.
“Traffic is diverted via local roads.
“Large freight vehicles heading eastbound/northbound are encouraged to use the A169 north at Old Malton and the A170 eastbound at Pickering, to head towards Scarborough. Westbound freight traffic is encouraged to use these roads in reverse order.”
