Britain’s rail network will be decimated tomorrow (Saturday, 1 October) due to the biggest strike of the year.
Only 11% of normal services will run and there will be no trains in many areas, Network Rail said.
Trains that do run will start later and finish earlier than usual.
And there are further strikes planned for Wednesday 5 October and Saturday 8 October. Here’s the latest from our train companies.
LNER
Saturday 1 October
Do not travel to and from stations north of York. No trains will run north of York in either direction.
A limited number of trains will run between London King’s Cross and York, in both directions.
Trains to the south

Wednesday 5 October:
LNER will be running a significantly reduced service. These changes are not yet showing correctly in journey planners however you check the timetables for this date here.

Grand Central

Saturday 8 October
RMT have announced a planned strike on this date. Grand Central will confirm the Grand Central timetable that will operate as soon as it is confirmed by Network Rail. This is likely to be four working days prior to the planned strike date.
Northern
Northern are advising customers NOT TO TRAVEL on strike dates. Services on Sunday 2 October and Sunday 9 October are expected to start later than normal.
Saturday 1 October
No Northern services will run.
Wednesday 5 October
No Northern services will run.
Saturday 8 October
A very limited service will run.

Hull Trains
Here’s the latest for people travelling to and from Selby.
Saturday 1 October
No services will run from Selby. A reduced service will run between Doncaster and London Kings Cross. You can view the confirmed timetable here.
Sunday 2 – Tuesday 4 October
A normal Hull Trains service will run.
Wednesday 5 October
A significantly reduced service will run between Hull and London Kings Cross. You can view the expected timetable here.
Thursday 6 October
A near normal Hull Trains service will run, with the exception of the 07:27 from London Kings Cross which will not run.
