York’s latest place to grab a coffee and cake has opened in a very prominent location.
Caffè Nero has thrown open the doors to its latest branch on Spurriergate, on the corner of High Ousegate.
It is the chain’s fourth branch in the city centre, with other venues on Kings Square, Davygate and Coppergate.
As well as offering a full range of coffees, hot and iced, the shop offers a range of sandwiches, cookies, pastries cakes and muffins.
The work to transform the former Utopia womenswear shop started last month.
This has turned the unit into into a modern airy space, with the serving area on the right and a signature bookcase down the middle of the store.
It is already proving popular, with most tables occupied when we paid a visit today (Monday).
