Now here’s something to put the bounce into your birthday…
Rose Avenue, York Business Park, Nether Poppleton
York’s first trampoline park opens on Saturday (April 30) and one of the first to give it a go will be Isabel Cook.
Isabel, nine, from Huntington, won a competition to hold her birthday party this week at Energi Trampoline Park York.
Together with 15 friends she will be jumping for joy at the new attraction, found at York Business Park, Nether Poppleton.
Isabel said: “I’m so excited. It’s amazing and loads of fun.
“All my school friends are talking about it; this is going to be the best party ever.”
Isabel’s mum Louise entered the competition on Facebook.
“I never win competitions, so it was such a lovely surprise to have won,” she said.
“Isabel is going to have an amazing time, and I’m looking forward to having a bounce too – we’re all big kids at heart really aren’t we?”
First of its kind
Energi is the first indoor trampoline park in North Yorkshire.
Work to convert a huge warehouse into the attraction began in March.
Boasting almost 100 separate trampolines, it also comes with parkour walls, a timed assault course and giant airbags – perfect for trying out tricks and flips.
There’s also a 128-seat cafe with mezzanine viewing gallery, two party rooms and a conference suite for school visits and corporate events.
Energi is the brainchild of two lifelong York residents, Guy Kilner and Aaron Cook, and has created 50 jobs.

Research suggests ten minutes trampolining is the equivalent of 30 minutes fast-paced running.
Due to its low impact nature, trampolining can be beneficial for the elderly, those recovering from sports injuries and new mothers.

Energi York aims to have regular clients of all ages but particularly expects to be a popular venue for children’s parties and for entertainment during school holidays – as well as offering something different to the corporate and sports team building market.
Isabel is one of the first to bounce away on her birthday, but there are plenty more following in her footsteps.
