Another York panto has fallen foul of Covid-19.
Today’s performances of Dick Turpin Rides Again at the Grand Opera House have been cancelled after people within the company came down with coronavirus.
Both the matinee performance at 1pm and the evening show at 5pm have been axed.

A statement from the theatre said: “Due to Covid-enforced absences within the company, we are sorry to announce that today’s performances on 2nd January have sadly had to be cancelled.
“Guests affected by this change will be contacted by their point of purchase in the coming days with alternative options.
“We apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your continued support.
“We look forward to welcoming you back to the Grand Opera House York soon.”
The decision was taken shortly before the matinee performance. One theatregoer said on Facebook they were in the queue for the matinee when it was cancelled “20 minutes before start time”.
It is the second panto to be affected by Covid.
On 23 December, the York Theatre Royal had to cancel all performances of Cinderella through to 30 December because of the number of infections.
It has since reopened successfully.
