A historic York venue will be transformed into a beer hall this summer.
The Merchant Adventurers’ Charity Beer Festival is set to return on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 July 2024.
The beer festival had a successful inaugural event last year, and is back for 2024 with brilliant breweries, amazing ales and a bigger fundraising target.
Taking place in the 667-year-old Merchant Adventurers’ Hall on Fossgate, the event will feature over 30 breweries showcasing more than 70 ales, beers and lagers.
The Great Hall will be transformed into a Keg Beer Hall and the Undercroft of the Hall will be turned into a 50 foot Cask Bar.
Brew York is the headline sponsor for the festival, and they’ll be on hand with a wide range of their most popular ales – as well as some new brews to tempt your tastebuds.
There will also be street food from Yuzu and Orchard 27 out in the garden.
The Merchant Adventurers’ Charity Beer Festival is raising money for the Merchant Adventurers’ Charitable Trust – and have a big target for 2024. Last year the festival raised £13,000 for the Charitable Trust, and the aim for this year is £17,000.
The Merchant Adventurers’ Charitable Trust supports education projects for local children across the city – and so far this year 850 local primary school children have attended fully funded visits to the Hall, and 30 Year 9 and 10 students have taken part in an innovative business and enterprise course working with the York Independent State School Partnership.
Tickets for the festival are on sale now and are £7 per session. There are two sessions per day.
