The 2014 Brassed On York Festival this weekend (June 21 and 22) sees the biggest line-up yet of brass bands playing in York.
Popular York-based bands and visiting Yorkshire bands will play throughout the day in York on Saturday, June 21, while on Sunday, New York Brass Band play the York Festival of Food and Drink.
The world-famous Black Dyke Band round off a packed weekend with a special Yorkshire prom concert at York Barbican.
The Brassed On York festival – now in its fourth year – will be playing host to more than a dozen bands as part of York’s celebrations for the Yorkshire Festival to welcome the Tour de France.
Another nine regional brass band concerts are being held across Yorkshire as part of the Tour de Brass organised by Brassed On York.
This year, Brassed On York has two performance areas in the city centre for the brass bands day on Saturday June 21, with bands playing in the food festival entertainment marquee and in the main performance area in Coppergate Shopping Centre.
