York folk singer-songwriter Joshua Burnell is performing a homecoming gig with his band this weekend.
Currently in the middle of a UK tour – with stops in places such as Manchester, London and Brighton – Joshua and his band are at The Crescent in York on Sunday 16 October.
Joshua has already been making an impression on the folk scene – winning Rising Star Award in the Folking Awards and receiving multiple plays on Mark Radcliffe’s Radio 2 Folk Show.
His latest album – Flowers Where The Horses Sleep – explores ‘humankind’s remarkable ability to find beauty, even in the hardest of times.’
Joshua’s band consist of violinist Frances Archer; guitarist Nathan Greaves, multi-instrumentalist Oliver Whitehouse; drummer Ed Simpson; and vocalist Frances Sladen.
Catch this rising star and his band, in a gig with acoustic sing-a-longs, Bowie-esque music hall epics, alt-pop singles – and much more.
Tickets are £12 and are available here.
