Arrests in York after two stolen cars collide
Police are investigating a collision involving two stolen cars in York over the weekend.
It happened on Melrosegate, at the junction with Constantine Avenue, shortly after midnight in the early hours of Saturday 7 August 2021.
The vehicles involved were a silver BMW, stolen on 6 August, and a blue VW Golf, stolen on 7 August.

Everyone involved made off from the scene before police arrived.
However, enquiries led officers to arrest a man and woman they located nearby shortly afterwards. They have both been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Anyone who witnessed the collision itself, or who has information in relation to the circumstances of the thefts or movements of the vehicles prior to the collision, should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for PC Matthew Wood.
