If you have always wanted to learn to tango, now’s your chance.
For 25 years, Tango York has offered a range of weekly classes to suit different levels of ability of participants aged from 18 to 75.
Their next total beginner’s course will run for four weeks, commencing on 4 September, with weekly classes each Monday evening.
These sessions will take you through the basics of the dance so that you can confidently join our regular classes, which are taught by professional Argentinean teachers.
Bringing a partner is not necessary, single people are always welcome.
The venue is St Lawrence Church Hall, Lawrence Street, which has parking at the back, a bike rack at the front, and is on a bus route.
Peter Gripton of York Tango said: “Having learnt the basics, we encourage you to attend our milongas (social dancing), where you will be able to practise your newly acquired moves.
“Apart from dancing, then watching other dancers, socialising with like minded people, and listening to the music are good ways to deepen your appreciation and understanding of the dance.”
