Police have seized an e-scooter in an operation in a York on Monday night.
They conducted a traffic operation in the Hull Road area of the city.
York officers said on social media: “Words of advice were given to cyclists and scooter riders.
“We finished by seizing an electric scooter. The rider had no insurance or driving licence. Please ensure you know the rules on electric scooters.”
York residents praised officers for taking action, but did wonder about the form of transport for the seized scooter.
“That’s great although I can’t help thinking that it would have been more cost effective to just put that scooter in the back of a van instead of the recovery truck,” said one.
Another added: “The recovery van needs to be bigger, surely? The handlebars alone are such a wide load!”
A third joked: “Are you sure you could fit it in that low loader? Well done though – they are a pain.”
There is hundreds of these.scooters everyday and police do nothing because apparently the paper work takes them away from other duties it’s about time the police and crime units around York and North Yorkshire got a grip
Yeah the number of them riden by under 16s would keep the police busy for the next year or more
Because perents buy them for there children and don’t check the law about them
