The refresh of facilities at York Station continues apace.
Just a week after York Gin opened their new shop on the concourse, Pret A Manger has revealed plans to open a sandwich shop there.
It wants to move into a recently formed retail unit which was formerly the ticket office. The larger one has already been occupied by Sainsbury’s.

As well as a general fit out to the unit, Pret is seeking planning permission to create external seating on both the inner and outer station concourse.
“The internal appearance will change through the bespoke Pret fit out of this site. The external appearance will undergo very limited change, with works largely relating to making good and redecorating, installing new signage to the unit,” planning documents state.
“Pret’s occupation of the site will ensure accessibility of the site to members of the public allowing greater visibility and exposure of this building.”
