Brew York is celebrating a landmark achievement – after its Taproom & Beer Hall was crowned the UK’s Best Independent Brewery Taproom.
The brewery received the accolade at the SIBA Business Awards 2025.
The Brew York Taproom & Beer Hall on Walmgate was praised for its beer garden, vibrant taproom, and unique Bavarian-style Beer Hall which boasts 40 beer taps.
This latest recognition follows York CAMRA’s ‘Pub of the Season’ award in November 2024.
The SIBA Business Awards, organised by the Society of Independent Brewers, showcases the UK’s independent brewing sector. It awards excellence across a range of categories including sustainability, marketing, and taproom experiences.
It aims to highlight businesses that go above and beyond in delivering outstanding beer and customer experiences.
Wayne Smith, co-founder and managing director of Brew York, expressed his pride in the team and the venue.
“Winning this award is an incredible achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team,” he said.

“From the very beginning, our goal has been to create an exceptional beer experience, and this recognition from SIBA confirms that we’re doing just that.
“We’re immensely proud to bring this award back to York and to share it with our amazing community of beer lovers.”
