Could anyone be more proud to hail from Yorkshire?
Two young women from York donned dresses created from Yorkshire white rose flags – and triumphed in a fancy dress competition.
Antonia Miles and Eve Dawson wore the dresses, created by Eve’s mum, to the York Maze staff party which marks the end of the summer season at the popular attraction.
The theme of the part was ‘Y’ for Yorkshire.
“This summer our maze theme has been all about celebrating Yorkshire with a design featuring three outspoken Yorkshiremen, Brian Blessed, Jeremy Clarkson and Geoff Boycott,” said Tom Pearcy from York Maze.
“Our end of season staff fancy-dress competition followed the Yorkshire theme and was won by Antonia Miles and Eve Dawson.
“Eve’s mum turned two Yorkshire White Rose flags into amazing dresses, when the girls stood side by side it made a single Yorkshire Rose.”
York Maze will re-open in six weeks for its annual Hallowscream nights for adults, October half term Halloween Family Fun, and Fireworks spectacular on November 5.
