Emergency services were called into action over an airborne emergency this afternoon (Monday).
A light aircraft was on fire, and radioed that it planned an emergency landing at the Leeds East Airport, Church Fenton, near Selby.
Fire crews from Selby an Tadcaster responded to the incident when it was reported at 3.30pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The plane managed to land and the pilot got out unharmed.
“The fire was confined to the battery compartment of the plane and was extinguished by airport fire crews.”
